During the corona pandemic, Prof. Peter Huy streamed his lectures live and publicly via YouTube. Selected courses and live streams are publicly available as Massive Open Online Courses via the YouTube channel "PeterHuy Lab".

Teaching materials for the lectures are published on Stud.IP.

We offer a wide range of research projects in the field of homogeneous catalysis and organic synthesis of pharmaceuticals and natural products for internships, bachelor's, state examination, and master's theses. Organic Chemistry for Biological Sciences and Teaching Degrees in Biology

• The course offers an introduction to organic chemistry with many examples from biochemistry (4 semester periods).
• Recordings of the course are availabel on YouTube in German.
• The examination will take place on Thursday, 07/31/25 from 1 p.m. in the Audimax Ulmenstraße 69
• The second exam will be written end of March 2026. Date, time and place will be announced in due time.

Organic Chemistry 5: Organic Molecules - Synthesis and Application

• The lecture for Chemistry Master is held by Prof. Malte Brasholz, Dr. Osama El-Sepelgy, Dr. Sergey Tin and Prof. Peter Huy (4 semester periods in total).
• Prof. Huy's part focuses in particular asymmetric syntheses, retrosynthesis and organocatalysis, especially Lewis base catalysis.
• The exam will take place on July, 31st 2025 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the lecture hall 1 of the Institute of chemistry in the Albert-Einstein-Str. 3a

Biochemistry

In this course for Master's and Teaching degrees in chemistry, metabolic pathways are primarily discussed, with a focus on reaction mechanisms (1 semester period).

Fundamentals of Chemistry for Medical Degree Programs

This module for medical degree programs as human medicine and dentistry provides an introduction to chemistry. It consists of lecture (4 semester periods). an experimental lecture (1 semester periods) and exercise seminars with 1 semester period. Topics comprehended are general and inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. The lecture is supported by exercise seminars and a separate lecture where experiments are included.

• The second re-examination (winter term 2024 / 2025)will be conducted on Friday, 09/19/25 at 10 a.m. in HS001 and HS002 in the Institute of Chemistry (Albert-Einstein-Str. 3a)
• The next oral Z1 examinations will take place from 08/29/25 to 09/03/25.
• The examination (winter term 2025 / 2026) will take place on Tuesday, 02/17/26, from 1 p.m.. The location will be announced in due time.
• The first re-examination will be carried out on Friday, 03/27/26, at 10 a.m. in HS001 and HS002 in the Institute of Chemistry (Albert-Einstein-Str. 3a).
